The Kashmir Files in Indian Sign Language for the First Time in the World

The Kashmir Files broke records at the box office by becoming the first post-pandemic Bollywood movie to reach the 300-crore mark. Starring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi and Darshan Kumaar in pivotal roles.

Now, ISH News has created a world record by becoming the first media company to interpret The Kashmir Files in Indian Sign Language (ISL) making this movie accessible for the Deaf Community. This bold move was done for the first time in history, and therefore was written in the International Book of Records.

This movie is available to watch on Zee5! With this, the 18 million Deaf individuals in India can now watch and enjoy the movie in their native language! Our skilled interpreters, accurately interpreted the movie in ISL. Their signs, along with their expressions, will ensure Deaf viewers get a clear understanding of the movie. They will not have to depend on their hearing friends and relatives to explain.

A special screening of the movie for 600 Deaf individuals was held at St Andrews Auditorium in Mumbai. The special screening was graced by the ISH News Founder & CEO Mr Alok Kejriwal, Director, Vivek Agnihotri and actor, Darshan Kumaar.

At the screening CEO Mr Alok Kejriwal said, ‘This is a huge moment for the Deaf Community. I hope that this is not the last movie. I urge directors & producers to work with ISH News to make movies an inclusive space for the Deaf!’
