Mr. Alok Kejriwal, who is a Deaf individual himself, launched ISH News in 2018. It is the first of its kind app for the Deaf, which broadcasts the Daily News and Entertainment in formats such as Indian Sign Language (ISL), visuals with titles, voice-overs, and closed-captions. Jio recently launched ISH News on Jio Set Top Box to enable the deaf community with quality content.
What got everyone motivated was the sheer energy with which Mr. Kejriwal conversed with Jatin Malhotra on several topics around ISH, its journey, its purpose, challenges faced & the path ahead.
The encouragement & questions from the audience kept pouring in. While the spirit of Mr. Kejriwal was in itself exemplary, what also got the audience awe-struck was the fact that the staff at ISH News comprises of 90% deaf individuals. The session left everyone inspired, reinforcing the fact that how diversity is all about embracing one another’s uniqueness!
